Florida Youth Substance Abuse Survey (FYSAS) – 2007 Survey Results
The Florida Youth Substance Abuse Survey (FYSAS) is annual assessment administered to Floridas middle and high school public school students. The survey, which has been administered since 2000, provides valuable information on the substance abuse trends in Florida, and helps direct prevention efforts. The results of the 2007 survey were released on April 17, 2008 by Lt. Governor Jeff Kottkamp and Office of Drug Control Director Bill Janes. The 2007 FYSAS shows continued declines in alcohol and other drug use for Floridas youth.

Florida Youth Substance Abuse Survey
This survey measures the substance abuse rates of children statewide in grades 6 – 12. The survey looks at 21 different areas of abuse and provides a county-by-county analysis in addition to the statewide analysis in even numbered years (i.e. 2002, 2004, 2006).
Florida Medical Examiners Report of Drugs Found in Deceased Persons
These reports detail autopsy data of substances that both caused the death of individuals in Florida as well as substances that were present at non lethal levels at the time of the autopsy.
Florida Statistical Analysis Center
The Florida Statistical Analysis Centers primary functions are to analyze criminal justice data and prepare statistical reports for policy-makers, planners, and program developers; and to serve as a resource for the media, academicians, students, and others researching crime in Florida.

FDLEs Uniform Crime Report (UCR) system allows the UCR program to provide standardized reports on crime statistics based on data gathered from across the state.
Florida Youth Tobacco Survey
The Florida Youth Tobacco Survey (FYTS) is a school-based survey of more than 23,000 middle and high school students in 266 schools in Florida. The FYTS is the primary surveillance component in the overall evaluation of the Florida Tobacco Pilot Program, whose mission is to reduce and prevent youth tobacco use in Florida.
National Survey on Drug Use and Health
The National Survey on Drug Use and Health (NSDUH) provides annual data on drug use in the United States. The survey provides yearly national and state level estimates of alcohol, tobacco, illicit drug, and non-medical prescription drug use. Other health-related questions also appear from year to year, including questions about mental health.
Monitoring the Future Survey
Monitoring the Future is an ongoing study of the behaviors, attitudes, and values of American secondary school students, college students, and young adults. Each year, a total of approximately 50,000 8th, 10th and 12th grade students are surveyed (12th graders since 1975, and 8th and 10th graders since 1991).
Florida Youth Risk Behavior Survey
The Youth Risk Behavior Survey (YRBS) is a statewide, school-based confidential survey of Florida?s public high school students. The purpose of the YRBS is to monitor priority health-risk behaviors that contribute substantially to the leading causes of death, disability, and social problems among youth, which contribute to patterns in adulthood.
